Carl’s Story

Aura & Ash started as a quiet escape — a way to cope, to breathe, and to find light. 

I live with multiple chronic health conditions that often stop me from doing the things I want to do — including working full-time. At times, it felt like life was on hold. But in the middle of all that, I found something small that gave me peace — creating.

It began as a hobby. I started making lamps from real tree branches — each one shaped by nature, each one completely unique. It was calming, creative, and slowly, it gave me purpose again.

The name Aura & Ash came from that contrast. “Aura” represents light, energy, and the feeling we carry — even when we’re struggling. “Ash” reminds me of the burnout, the illness, the tough times… but also the strength that comes after. From ashes, something beautiful can grow.

This is still a small weekend project, because of my health. But every piece I make is honest, natural, and made with care. Aura & Ash means a lot to me — it’s a little light I can offer to others, made from the moments when I thought I had none left.
